Brodiaeas and Sew Cranky will be at The Riverside Convention Center with all of your favorite characters from the pages of Charles Dickens. As always we will have an assortment of our handcrank sewing machines for you to try out or purchase, as well as a special Scrooge hat Project for you to crank out. Brodiaea's Suttlery will be there with items to complete or start your Victorian Wardrobe, and all day long there will be activities and entertainment for everyone. And the price of admission is FREE. And thats no Humbug, Ebenezer.

February 18th and 19th 2012 -- President's Day Weekend

Join Mr Lincoln and Brodiaeas for a special President's Day Weekend at the Strathearn Museum in Simi Valley. The folks there were happy to have a Civil War component at this event. They have now invited us to have an encampment there on Presidents Day Weekend, February 18-19.

The grounds include several buildings, the most important of which is a home, the rear wing of which was built in 1794. Other buildings have been moved there to add to the collection.
Sew Cranky and Brodiaeas will be there with our Hands on History Antique Sewing Machines for you to experience the domestic technology of the later half of the 1800's. There will be projects for you to do, and there will be Military and Civilian living history demonstrations as well. And an Evening Barn Dance in a real barn.

March 30, April 1 Civil War Reinactment at Prado Park in Chino Hills

April 28th and 29th Heritage Days Civil War Reinactment at Pierce College Farm Center.

Sewcrany and Brodiaeas go to the Farm Center at Pierce College in Woodland Hills to give a little Hands On History lesson. We will have some new additions to the fleet of sewing machines for you to try as well as some of the latest fashions (1860 that is).
There will be Dances and music, as well as a battle or two. Something for everyone.

May 20th -- Sunday at the Topanga Banjo and Fiddle Festival.

June 16, Saturday - History Day at the Strathern Museum in Simi.

Sewcranky goes back in history to the Strathern Museum for their history days. Come see some Classic cars, (some of them with cranks too) old machinery, and relive a little of what life in California at the turn of the century (1900 that is) was like. Tours of the buildings and entertainment for the whole family.

July 21 and 22, Saturday and Sunday - Civil War Reinactment at El Dorado Park in Long Beach.

September 1st and 2nd
Civil War Living History at Huntington Beach Central Park, Huntington Beach. A Living History experience and it's FREE to everyone. The will also be a Period Dance in the evening. Come watch or experience it. We will have our antique machines there for you to get some "hands on History" sewing a purse or Shopping Bag or a popular with Kids of all Ages our Drawstring Calico Bags.

Civil War Reinactment at Moorpark

Sew Cranky will be there with antique hand crank sewing machines. Come sew a simple project using your own "green" crank power, purchase, or just look at their beauty! We will also have items from the Brodiaea's Sutlery for sale...
There will be all kinds of History demo's that represent history... from the civil war. From Battles with charging Cavalry and Booming Artillery, to living history demonstrations of how both the soldiers and Civilians survived one of our nations most turbulent and formative periods. There is a dance Saturday night with Kuffle Creek (Emil Olguin, Susan Platz, Marie Bruno, and Nathan Olguin).. daytime It should be a fun weekend with something for everyone!
